HISTORY
In the 1950s the Manera family , made up of Giuseppe, his wife Maria, his children Oreste, Guido and his wife Ortensia, decided to separate from the family residing in the nearby hamlet of the same name and build their own and autonomous home.
Brichàt di Langa takes its name from the place where the building was built, that is a small panoramic relief with gentle and sloping lines towards the nearby valleys.
The surrounding morphology of the places was characterized by groves of red pine and oak trees with twisted shapes, deriving from the aridity of the clayey subsoil, interspersed with bushes of wild hawthorn, rose hips, medlar and broom that in the spring period exploded in lively spontaneous blooms.
The extension of the cultivated land owned by the family was around thirteen hectares , located on the neighboring slopes and characterized by the typical crops of "Alta Langa": soft wheat, corn, beans and mainly grass, to supply hay to the breeding of Piedmontese cattle.
There was also a decent vineyard , thanks to which the classic “dolcetto” wine was produced for the use and consumption of the family.
In the garden attached to the house the necessary vegetables were grown: salad, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, green beans, potatoes, a varied choice of aromatic plants, fruit trees.
The planting of the characteristic “tonda gentile” hazelnut had already begun at that time, placed in soils not very favorable to mechanical work: its cultivation, in fact, was carried out entirely by hand.
In the stables , cattle, pigs, poultry, rabbits were raised, fed with organic feed.
Further noteworthy activities were the production of dairy products, cured meats, cold cuts, jams, preserves, the collection of mushrooms, truffles, wood .
From the beginning, the Manera family generously granted the use of agricultural machinery and precious personal collaboration to the numerous farmers in the district.
The estate soon became a reference farm for food shops and butchers in the Alba area and surroundings .
THE SUITES
Junior Suite
The suite is furnished to accommodate two people .
It consists of a bedroom with private bathroom . The room has a double bed, original 1950s wooden slatted floor. The lively color of the original 1950s headboard and accessories stands out against the delicate colors of the room with period frames and doors. The bathroom is equipped with toilet, aspirator, bidet and shower. The suite has a size of 23 sq m. Access to the private balcony with splendid panoramic views through an internal passage. The room is equipped with a mini bar, electric kettle and herbal teas.
Solarium Suite
The suite is furnished to accommodate two people .
It consists of two large and elegant rooms , a hallway , a private bathroom and a solarium balcony for exclusive use . The first bedroom has a double bed with separable beds, with wooden headboard and matching original period furniture; the floor is in original 1950s slatted wood. The second bedroom is used as a sitting room with original 70s ceramic floor. The bathroom has a toilet, bidet and shower. The suite has a size of 47 square meters. A private solarium with panoramic views is accessed through an internal passage. The room is equipped with a mini bar with electric kettle and herbal teas.
Master Suite
The suite is furnished to accommodate two or three people .
It consists of two large rooms in a rural Piedmontese style, a hallway and a private bathroom . The first bedroom has a double bed with
separable beds, with wooden headboards and matching furniture; enriched by a reading corner, with original 70s ceramic floor. The second bedroom is furnished with a sitting area where it is possible to add an extra bed, with original 70s floors. The bathroom has a toilet, bidet and shower. The suite has a size of 51 square meters. Access to a private balcony with splendid panoramic views through an internal passage. The room is equipped with a mini bar with electric kettle and herbal teas.
OUR SERVICES
Breakfast
It is served in the breakfast room located on the ground floor. For those who want to be surrounded by Nature from the moment they wake up, breakfast can be enjoyed in the garden in front of the farmhouse, while for those who want a more intimate moment directly in the suite .
Live a moment of gluttony among the local Piedmontese flavors , you will find seasonal fruit, cakes, pies, jams, yogurt, cheeses, typical Piedmontese products, tea, coffee, ...
The breakfast can be customized in case of food allergies and intolerances.
Garden
Cascina Brichat Alta Langa has a large garden in front of the house and a path through a small wood private at the back of the building: you can indulge your senses with a pleasant walk among the oaks, listening to the lively sounds of nature.
Pool
The swimming pool is outside, overlooking the valley. Daily hygiene checks are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Near the swimming pool there is the wellness area with deck chairs . Guests are provided with a soft sponge towel and slippers for the pool.
The swimming pool is open in the summer months.
It is not heated .
